Project Overview
Rowan Metal Works fabricated the complete structural steel package for a 28,000 SF commercial warehouse in Concord, NC. The project involved wide-flange columns and beams, HSS bracing, base plates, and all connection hardware. The steel package was delivered sequenced to support the erection contractor's schedule.
The project was completed under a subcontract to the general contractor, working from engineer-stamped structural drawings. Full mill certifications and weld documentation were provided at project closeout.
Challenges & Solutions
We prioritized material procurement at contract award and maintained a rolling 2-week fabrication lookahead to ensure delivery stayed ahead of erection.
Coordinated directly with the structural engineer of record to resolve connection details before fabrication, eliminating field fit-up issues.
Applied a two-coat epoxy primer system to SSPC SP 10 blast profile, meeting the owner's corrosion protection specification for the warehouse environment.
