Rowan Metal Works fabricated a custom steel stair system and decorative railing for a multi-story commercial office renovation in Charlotte, NC. The architect specified a clean industrial aesthetic with flat bar infill panels and a satin black powder coat finish.
The project required close coordination with the architect and general contractor on shop drawing approval, dimensional verification, and installation sequencing within an active occupied building.
Challenges & Solutions
Performed field measurements of the existing slab opening before finalizing shop drawings, ensuring the stair system fit precisely within the as-built opening dimensions.
Coordinated powder coat color selection with the architect to achieve an exact match to the specified RAL 9005 Jet Black with a satin sheen level.
Pre-assembled components in shop to minimize on-site fit-up time and noise, completing installation over a single weekend to minimize disruption.
