Project Overview
Rowan Metal Works designed and fabricated steel mezzanine platforms and equipment access structures for a food processing facility expansion in Kannapolis, NC. The project included three elevated platforms with bar grating decking, safety handrail systems, and equipment access stairs.
All platforms were designed to OSHA 1910.23 standards for industrial walking-working surfaces. The food processing environment required a hot-dip galvanized finish for corrosion resistance in the wash-down environment.
Results
All three platforms were delivered and installed within the facility's planned maintenance shutdown window. The galvanized finish has performed as expected in the wash-down environment with zero maintenance coating requirements in the first year of service.
