Project Overview
Rowan Metal Works completed a high-volume powder coating production run for a manufacturer of aluminum extrusion components used in commercial window and curtain wall systems. The project involved 1,200 individual extrusion pieces requiring consistent color, film thickness, and surface quality across the entire production run.
The customer required AAMA 2604 performance compliance documentation for the coating system, including adhesion testing, film thickness records, and color consistency verification against the specified master standard.
Quality Control
Film thickness measurements were taken at a minimum of five points per part using a calibrated DFT gauge. Color verification was performed against the customer master standard using a spectrophotometer. All non-conforming parts were stripped and re-coated before shipment.
